Spring
We spent the day in the yard today. We all have little sunburns on our cheeks. We planted our raspberries...keep your fingers crossed cause I have very little faith I can get anything eatable to grow. Cohen covered himself in sand and dirt and then found the hose. Needless to say he had 2 baths today. Halle had a meltdown when I told her that dandilions were weeds. Hope you are enjoying the nice weather too.

because we needed something...
Ever since the close of the Olympics, end of Valentines Day and fun visitors are gone, winter has been dragging on and on. Every now and then we get a glimpse of spring. However, on cold days our days are very long, and we don't get out much...probably because we refuse to wear winter coats any longer and it is too cold to go outside in flip flops (just yet). We usually eat lunch in our PJ's, take afternoon naps when applicable (always) and don't pick up the house til late afternoon... Needless to say, we needed something to energize & excite us! Disney on Ice came at just the right time!
I think this worked to fill our tanks for a few more weeks and then we better see some tulips and butterflies! Hope everyone is doing great and hanging in there. No comment from Arizona & California people please.

potato sac races
So last night I was going through all my newspapers that have been piling up in my garage, in search of some good coupons. I heard a lot of rackas outside the office door and proceeded to just ignore it until the jumping and sound of moving plastic got the best of my curiosity. I opened the door to find Chad and the kids having potato sac races up and down the hall with the plastic bags that carry the newspapers. It was so funny, and adorable I might add. Had to snap this picture and write about it. Even though Chad is horrible at wiping down the counters (don't know why men are that way), he sure knows how to have a good time out of scratch! I love my family.

Halle turns 5!
Happy Birhday Halle!!! I guess it is official that I now have a person to raise and not a baby anymore.
Halle celebrated her birthday on Valentines Day this year, so we could go all out with a "heart/love" theme.

Although Cohen was pretty jelious all day long, he at least offered to help set up the table decorations, kindof.

Halle spent a lot of time making her own valentines for the guests this year. She was very proud that she wrote all their names by herself. Here she is laying them out and deciding who sits where (She often does name tags for our little family dinners too).
Once the chaos arrived I didn't have time to snap many pictures. We had dark chocolate cake (mistake 1) and a big punch bowl full of a valentine slush (mistake 2) that I was refereeing. I am glad Chad jumped in and took a couple photos of her blowing out the candles!
We were so excited to have both our familes here for the occasion. Chad's parents were here from California and the Frei gang made the long trip to Farmington to celebrate with us.
Happy Birthday Halle. We love you and yes...It was worth it...I think:)
